Two characters who must share their humanity in the face
of death.
ELLA is a single middle-class woman, approximately 40 years
old. She has never been married or had children. She has had
a few relationships, but is now alone. She was given her name
by her mother, who loved literature and music, and was particularly
fond of Ella Fitzgerald.
ULISSES is almost 20 and was born in a poor suburb in the
outskirts of town. His mother and father were robbers, and
he found himself with a gun in his hand at a very young age.
His dream was to be a musician. He did time in a youth detention
centre at a young age and later in prison. He has a girlfriend,
Suzana, who is a stripper in a downtown nightclub.
