The film refers to the uneasy and daring story of Cide, an 18-year-old boy belonging to a middle class family of São Paulo and dating a problematic girl, Alice, 16 years old. Alice's father is a member of the Chinese Mafia and is married to an Italian-descendent Brazilian woman. He met her at the weeding party of Alice's sister. Cide had been involved with the bride the night before. A great attraction connected Cide and Alice at that very first sight however they also realized how hard it would be for them to be together. Alice was a very depressive person although she looked just like any other girl of her age.

Cide was a happy self-confident boy. He couldn't care less about what was going around him or to the life of other people. He was always around friends, especially Malraux, a 17 year-old whose house turned to be the main meeting point of the gang. Malraux's family allowed them to be totally free, from consuming drugs to having sex at home. His parents were hippies long ago and did not want to be imposing taboos for their kids. Cide's family, on the contrary, was quite opposite to that.

Cide's father owns a gas station and a video rental shop connected business where Cide works against his will. Someday, he swears, he will burn it down. His father is always picking on him suspecting he consumes drugs. Cide can't stand it anymore and the worse is to keep seeing his father flirting around with minors that are often around the video rental.

He hides himself at Malraux's room with his gang. Patrícia, who is a nymphomaniac, is always around Malraux, however, closely approching anyone that would be appealing to her. Feio and Andréa are young models without a real
carrier to bet upon while Maciel and Lampréia are two friends tending to mess-up times. They are all ranging from 16 to 19 years of age. Although they are not exactly out-of-law kids and do not present problematic behavior profiles, they end up committing some illegal acts that might be changing their lives. They reach their limits and get deep into their misery. Cide starts using drugs taken by Andrea what ruins things for him and Alice. He goes to jail accused of raping Alice. In prison he found out he really liked her.

When he is let free he finds out that Alice is in coma at hospital after having an overdose of
medication intake. He also gets to know that his friends are more and more responsible and ready to change their lives. Only he was still lost, not even a slightly change like his friends Feio and the insane Andréa, who ended up having an affair, forgetting the idea of being models and after marriage come to be salespersons of a car dealership. But Cide's freedom wouldn't last long. A Chinese bodyguard contracted by Alice's father and who had been chasing him from the very beginning of the film kidnaps him and does to him exactly what he did to Alice. Cide survived from such cruelty.

Maciel finds out the place where Cide's aggressor is and, with Malraux, they decide to go there to kill him. Cide finally kills the man but the Chinese bodyguard suddenly arrives and kills Maciel. Cide kills him with the fifth bullet in his gun. One is still left. He had counted the bullets over and over. Cide believes he is contaminated with HIV virus and still with blood marks of that horror, he enters into the hospital and really finds Alice in coma lying in bed. Like a modern Romeo and
Juliet, Cide joins their destinies to death.
