Since 1985, Nexus Cinema has worked in Brazilian Movie Market.
Nexus Cinema e Vídeo is the producer of the film VERA, by Sérgio Toledo (Silver Bear for Best Actress, Berlin - 1987) and OLGA, by Jayme Monjardim. OLGA, based on the book by Fernando Morais, as well as being nominated to represent Brazil in the Oscars, was a great box office success, with more than 3 million spectators. And more than 75,000 DVDS have also been sold.

Working on only a few projects at a time and dedicating our full attention to every aspect involved in the production of a film, Nexus now presents its new projects: BUDAPEST, based on the book by Chico Buarque; CIDE AND ALICE, and JUST A REPORT.

Rita Buzzar
Screenwriter, director and producer
     

Graduated in Cinema,  Arts and Cinema School, from São Paulo (ECA), Brazil. Directed and produced short-films and documentaries for Brazilian Television. Studied with Gabriel Garcia Marquez, in II Screenplay Workshop, in Cuba, and in the II Sundance Institute Screenplay Workshop – in Cuba.

Wrote series for Brazilian Television, Rede Manchete and SBT: “Rosa dos Rumos, “Ana Raio e Zé Trovão”, and others.

Directed and produced, “Carandiru.Doc”.

Produced and wrote OLGA, directed by Jayme Monjardim, based on the book of Fernando Morais. More than 3.100.000 spectators. More than 20 National and International Prizes, as well as being nominated to represent Brazil in the Oscars, And more than 75,000 DVDS have also been sold.

She is producing BUDAPEST, based on book of Chico Buarque. The film will be directed by Walter Carvalho. And also ON FILE, directed by Roberto Moreira and CIDE AND ALICE, by Hermes Leal.
